Amazon Summer Must-Haves
We are in the midst of summer right now, and I am SO happy to be soaking up the sun during this season. From lying by the pool to summer date nights, summer is truly one of my favorite seasons because of the endless possibilities of things to do! As I've been traveling the past couple of months, I've put together my summer essentials that are going to make your summer more enjoyable, no matter where you are or where you go!
Tinted SPF
The number one summer must-have is a tinted moisturizer with SPF. The summer sun can be super intense, and I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to put sunscreen on my face before doing my makeup. To make it hassle-free, I've been obsessed with using the CereVe mineral sunscreen as it helps keep my skin moisturized, tinted, and protected from the sun!
Packing Cubes
Whenever I pack for vacation, you guys are always asking why I don't use packing cubes. So, when I traveled for Miss New York, I finally caved and ordered some, and let me tell you, it was the best decision I've ever made. Not only did it keep my suitcase nice and organized, but I felt like I could fit SO much more in my bag (which is great for a girl who is a major overpacker like myself).
Handheld Fan
I might go ahead and say that this handheld fan is my favorite thing on this entire list. Since the beginning of the summer, I have not left the house without it one time, and let me tell you, I thank myself every single time for bringing it. The summer heat is no joke, and while this fan may be small, it is mighty. I use this when I'm walking around the city, waiting for the subway, or lounging on my balcony.
Tinted Body Moisturizer
Whether you self-tan or lie out in the sun, getting an even and shiny tan that is consistent can be one of the hardest parts about summer. However, this body-blurring makeup has made such a difference in the way my skin looks. It acts like a tinted moisturizer for your body, evening out your tan and giving you a sun-kissed glow. It's perfect for when you don't have time to reapply your self-tanner but your skin needs a quick refresh!
Film Camera
I am someone who is OBSESSED with taking photos to remember every single memory, and while I do love my phone, there is something so special about getting physical film back. I took this camera with us when Will and I went to Greece, and every time I look at the pictures we got back, my heart swells with happiness. This is such a fun way to capture your summer memories and relive them at the end of the season when you get the film developed!
Summer Dress
I found the perfect summer dress when I was searching on Amazon, and I have worn it so many times! This yellow dress is lightweight, super flattering, and is the perfect color to match the bright and vibrant colors of the season. I also love that this dress is perfect for both daytime and nighttime events, so it saves you the trouble of having to change if you have multiple plans in a day!
After Sun Body Butter
One of the worst parts of the entire summer is getting a horrible sunburn. It also doesn't help that even if you get THE perfect tan, the sun has totally dried out your skin. So, to help combat all of these issues, I love using an after-sun body butter to help keep my skin hydrated and prevent it from peeling. What I love about the Hawaiian Tropic lotion is how delicious it smells and how sensitive it is on my skin!
Summer Sandals
When it comes to summer, I am also looking for an affordable pair of sandals that can handle sand, water, and any other adventure I might wear them on. I love this pair I found because not only are they cute, but they aren't super expensive and have been able to handle the summer elements (including the insane heat). I also love how they can go with almost every outfit!
Lip Butter
Something I learned the hard way this summer was not to wear lip oil when you're in the sun. I did that in Greece, and my lips were insanely sunburnt, and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. So, I have now only worn lip butters like this one from Summer Fridays to keep my lips hydrated while not frying them in the sun.
Sunglasses
I've talked about protecting your skin and your lips, but it's also important to protect your eyes! These are THE perfect pair of sunglasses that look super fancy while being affordable. I honestly reach for these more than some of my designer pairs of sunglasses because they have such a flattering shape and are durable, so I just throw them in my bag when I'm walking out the door and don't have to worry about them breaking!
